The Climate & People Welfare Council (CPWC) has announced the launch of Sehat Sarthi Sankalp, a community-centric health initiative aimed at ensuring preventive healthcare access and digital medical support for rural households across India.

Sehat Sarthi Sankalp is designed with the objective that every village is supported by a trained Sehat Sarthi, responsible for delivering health awareness, facilitating early detection of common health risks, and enabling access to telemedicine consultations. Under the programme framework, one trained youth at the Gram Panchayat level will serve approximately 1,000 households, acting as a vital link between communities and healthcare service providers.

The initiative follows a structured collaboration model, wherein CPWC focuses on community mobilisation, training, and on-ground coordination, while partner healthcare organisations deliver specialised services such as diagnostics, consultations, and preventive health solutions. This approach enables service-providing organisations to expand their outreach responsibly while maintaining a community-driven delivery system.

A key pillar of Sehat Sarthi Sankalp is the creation of dignified local livelihoods, particularly for women, by enabling Sehat Sarthis to earn sustainable incomes while serving their own villages. By promoting early identification of health concerns and timely digital consultations, the programme also aims to reduce avoidable medical expenses and out-of-pocket healthcare burdens for rural families.

CPWC stated that Sehat Sarthi Sankalp reflects its commitment to strengthening grassroots health ecosystems through preventive care, technology-enabled access, and local capacity building. The initiative is envisioned as a scalable village-level model that improves community wellbeing while supporting inclusive and sustainable healthcare delivery.
