Dr-Garima-2

The Climate & People Welfare Council (CPWC) has announced the appointment of Dr. Garima Ghiya as State Chairperson, State Council for Health & Public Wellbeing (SCHPW), Rajasthan, marking a significant step towards strengthening people-centric public health and wellbeing frameworks in the State.

In her new role, Dr. Ghiya will provide leadership to State-level initiatives focused on preventive health, hospital-support systems, nutrition, child health, and emergency response, working in coordination with government departments, healthcare institutions, civil society organisations, and development partners. The appointment aligns with CPWC’s broader mission of advancing integrated, humane, and sustainable public wellbeing systems.

Speaking on her appointment, Dr. Garima Ghiya emphasised the need to look beyond conventional healthcare delivery models.
“Strengthening public health systems requires attention beyond hospitals. Along with clinical treatment, equal importance must be given to nutrition, essential support services, and humane care to ensure comprehensive and sustainable public wellbeing,” she said.

Highlighting the human dimension of healthcare, she further stated,
“A people-centric approach to health creates systems that respect dignity, compassion, and emotional resilience, supporting not only patients but also families and attendants during critical periods of care.”

As State Chairperson, Dr. Ghiya is expected to play a key role in shaping policies and programmes that integrate medical care with nutrition support, community engagement, and patient-attendant welfare—areas increasingly recognised as critical to effective public health outcomes.

The appointment reflects CPWC’s commitment to strengthening institutional leadership at the State level and advancing holistic health and wellbeing initiatives in alignment with national priorities.
